As an archaeologist visiting from London, I chose Alpenhof for our family vacation, seeking a balance between relaxation and exploration. The hotel's location proved advantageous, convenient for reaching the picturesque Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the historic monastery in Ettal, and the charming old town of Oberammergau-all accessible via public transport. We booked a quadruple room for my family of four, which comfortably accommodated our two children, thanks in part to a functional bunk bed. The room itself was spacious and kept impeccably clean. Fortunately, it was situated away from the main road, allowing us peaceful nights of rest despite the warm weather, as the room maintained a pleasant temperature without air conditioning. The breakfast, while limited in hot options, offered a satisfying start to our day with a healthy buffet that sustained us through our adventures. We appreciated the convenience of a nearby Shell Gas station for quick snacks and caffeine. Alpenhof provided good value for money, making it an excellent choice for families looking to enjoy the serene Alpine nature while conveniently accessing the region's cultural attractions.
